Daminda is a Micro insurance professional with 15 years of experience and founder president / CEO of “The Professional Consortium”.

Daminda has wide array of experience in the Micro insurance sector with policy making institutionalization, operations and establishing, guiding field activities at grassroot levels to cover all aspects across the sector with proven projects. Some of them are disaster risk financing and risk transfer options, regulations, product development, distribution channels, awareness raising, training, country diagnostics, Research, feasibility studies and business plans etc.
Daminda is a member of academic panel of Diploma in Micro Finance (DMF) Department of Economics – University of Colombo and design curriculum of Micro insurance for the same program and a Lecturer, Trainer in Micro Insurance in several other universities and is a panel member of academic board. Also a member of Micro Insurance Research Center UK, and Micro insurance network.

In addition, he has extensive experience in leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills through working in multi-racial and multicultural environment and with firsthand experience on dealing with sensitive issues surrounding gender, human rights and cultural awareness.

He has completed Master of Economics (M.Econ) in University of Colombo ( Research on Demand for Health Micro insurance in Sri Lanka), Post graduate diploma in Development Economic (Pgd Dev Econ) Post graduate diploma in Marketing – Chartered Institute of Marketing – United Kingdom

Dr. S.P Premarathne

Director


Premarathne has extensive experience in academic sector and works as a senior lecturer of Department of Economic University of Colombo since 2000. He is an expert in Micro Finance and Micro Insurance and has worked in number of research projects in Sri lanka and abroad.

He has actively involved in research work in Micro insurance sector and contributed in policy making and strategic planning activities with extensive knowledge gathered in working with “poor” clusters. Apart from that Premarathne is an expert on disaster risk financing and risk transfer options, regulations, product development, distribution channels, awareness raising and training.

Premarathne has been the coordinator of Phd program in University of Colombo , Diploma in Micro Finance and Executive Diploma in Business and Financial Economics and has published more than 100 article and research supervisor of more than 100 in Master’s thesis in Economics, for his career.

He has completed his Phd in Eindhoven University of Technology Netherlands (2002) and MPhil in, Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands (1998). Further he has completed M.A. in Economics, (1994) University of Colombo and B.A.( Honours) in Economics, (Second class upper division), (1991)

Mosleh Ahmed

Director


Mosleh is an International Micro insurance professional with over 25 years of experience. Since the inception of “The Professional Consortium” he has worked very closely as a Director in various capacity in Micro insurance sector.

Mosleh is an expert on disaster risk financing and risk transfer options, regulations, product development, distribution channels, awareness raising, training, country diagnostics, feasibility studies and business plans in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Fluent in English and Bangla and working knowledge of German, Hindi and Urdu.

Extensive experience in leadership, teamwork and interpersonal skills through working in multi-racial and multicultural environment and with firsthand experience on dealing with sensitive issues surrounding gender, human rights and cultural awareness.

Working experience in Armenia, Bangladesh, Brazil, Croatia, China, Georgia, Germany, India, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Moldova, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, UAE, Uganda, UK and Vietnam with ADB, DANIDA, GiZ, IFC, ILO-MIF, SIDA, NORAD, the World Bank and UNDP

Member of UK All Party Parliamentary Group on Microfinance, Microinsurance Network, UK Microfinance Club, and a Trustee of Oxford University Microfinance Initiative. Has participated as a resource person in many international seminars and regularly lectures economic societies and student’s organisations at UK universities to promote awareness on microfinance and poverty in developing countries.

Qualified as a Chartered with KPMG in the UK and worked with Deloitte & Co as a manager.
